Description
The purpose of using a RDA ( Run Down Adapters) is to simulate the fastening process of a screw. These durable run down adapters are designed to provide consistent and reliable torque readings for use with power driven torque control tools. The RDA reduces the impact and irregular peaks that cause poor repeatability.
The run down adapter is mounted in-line between the tool’s drive and the torque tester or sensor, which may require other adapters or attachments. The RDA is designed to operate in a clockwise direction only. Apply torque until RDA is run down and the tool shuts-off. Then note or save the readings with the torque analyzer. After each run down, the RDA should be backed off just enough to fully release the tension. It’s important not to back out completely or the adapter will unscrew and could be damaged on the next rundown by cross-threading.
